On May 3rd, 1882, Japan's first privately owned large-scale spinning company Osaka Boseki was established by Eiichi Shibusawa, a famous industrialist in the Meiji era. On June 26th, 1914, Toyobo Co., Ltd. was established from a merger of Mie Boseki and Osaka Boseki. Approximately 130 years after its establishment, Toyobo continues to provide many technologies in a broad range of fields. At present, we supply a wide range of high-function products such as films, automotive products, environment related products, bioproducts and pharmaceuticals, and we are constantly developing many products as a manufacturer of "high-function products."
For details of our development, see "Toyobo Story".
