Is it true Toyobo can make plastics from plants?

Plastic made from "castor beans" that are used to make castor oil

Many of the plastics used in are daily lives are made using oil as the raw material. Not only is oil a limited resource, burning it generates CO2 which increases the speed of global warming. Therefore, there is a vigorous movement towards creating plastics without using oil. For example, raw materials created using plants such as sugar cane do not have such an impact on the environment because they naturally return to the earth when they are buried, and the CO2 generated when burned is the same CO2 that was used in the plant's growth. At Toyobo, we are using "castor beans" as raw materials in making highly heat resistant resin.
