  • Water-wash thick-layer plate for screen printing Cosmomask®

Outline

  • Toyobo, the pioneer of Printight®, a water–wash letterpress plate, has commercialized an instant thick–layer photo–polymer film Cosmomask® used for screen printing.
This thick–layer photo–polymer film makes the preparation of screen film much easier compared with the conventional process.

Feature

Key advantages

  • 1. Put the film onto the screen fabric. Then apply the photo-sensitive emulsion to the squeeze side of fablic. Then PS plate for screen printing is ready. Possible to decrease processing time drastically, compared with direct screen method of emulsion.
  • 2. High photo-sensitivity makes UV exposure time shorter than that of conventional diazo-type screen film.
  • 3. Life time is long enough to last for approximately 1 year under dry condition.
  • 4. Water-wash and high resolution.
  • 5. Flat film surface realizes an excellent printing quality.

Plate-making process

Put the film onto the screen fabric. Then apply the photo-sensitive emulsion to the squeeze side of fabric. Then PS plate for screen printing is ready. Possible to decrease processing time drastically, compared with direct screen.

  • Peel off the base film and place the photo-polymer on the flat board made of foam polystyrene,...etc.

  • Place the frame with screen fabrics on the photo-polymer plate and spray water upon it thoroughly with a kind of sprayer.

  • After spraying 20-30 seconds, wipe off the excess liquid carefully with a squeeze several times.

  • Dry the assembly in the dryer at 40℃ for 15-30 minutes.

  • Seal the part around the edge of the photo-polymer plate with filling agent.

  • Dry the assembly in the dryer at 40℃ for 15-30 minutes.

  • Apply an emulsion to the squeeze side of the assembly.

  • Dry the assembly in the dryer at 40℃ for 15-30 minutes.

4 or 5 times of repeating step 7 and 8 is recommended.

  • Then peel off the cover film.

4 or 5 times of repeating step 7 and 8 is recommended.

  • Contact a positive film onto the photo-sensitive plate and apply UV exposure or metal halide lamp.

  • Washout unexposed polymer with tap water using soft brush or sponge.
And washout the emulsion remaking in the unexposed part.

  • Then washout in the fine parts with water shower.
At this moment be careful not to make water spray so hard. And be sure to wash it in a short time.

  • Dry the assembly in the dryer at 40℃ for 15-30 minutes.

  • At last, expose the photo-sensitive plate with the same time as the main exposure time.

  • Now, the assembly is ready for print.

  • All products are produced with a quality control system as certificated by "ISO 9001" for the world.
