This system is composed of two parts - the
Main Section (the Solvent Concentrating Part) and the Disposal
The Main Section is centered around the KPR rotor which has superior adsorption-desorption
qualities. This is combined with the Disposal Section composed of a direct combustion
incinerator, or a catalytic oxidizer, or solvent recovery apparatus depending
upon your requirements.
The system comprises, in effect, a total pollution control program.
The heart of the system is the KPR rotor which is fabricated with Toyobo's activated
carbon fiber (K-Filter), with its incomparably excellent and efficient adsorption-desorption
The Main Section
Figures 1-1 and
Figures 2 provide a schematic representation of the KPR rotor
with a disk, or with a cylinder. Figure
1-2 shows you the distinctive honeycombed K-Filter
adsorbent. Adsorption and desorption are attained continuously
by dividing areas of the rotor into blocks, one for adsorption
and the other for desorption, and by rotating the rotor.
The solvent-laden air and the purged hot air ,both flow
along the tubular routes of the blocks. The hydrocarbon
ingredients in the solvent regenerated continuously in
the desorption block.
The volume of hot air being purged for desorption is but fractions of several
tens, compared to that of the solvent-laden air. As a result, the concentration
of solvent in this purged gas is increased tremendously.
Drastic reductions in size are achieved by high air velocities(2-3m/sec.) based
upon superior adsorption abilities of the K-Filter, and by a lower pressure drop
caused by designing the air flow to run parallel to the adsorbent.
Three Types of the KPR System
The Toyobo KPR Solvent Gas Treatment System comes in three
types. They are all designed to meet your needs and are determined
by the type of the disposal equipment being applied.
