ABOUT

Toyobo entered the biotechnological industry in 1948, beginning with research on the treatment of pulp effluent using cultured yeast. In 1972, Toyobo launched Japan's first enzymatic diagnostic reagent, and in 1982, the company began selling enzymes for genetic engineering, thereby contributing to the development of the Japanese biotech market.
Today, Toyobo offers a wide variety of products and services based on its many years of experience in the biotech field, including raw materials such as enzymes, antibodies, and antigens for diagnostic reagents; intermediate products for manufacturing diagnostic reagents; reagents for genetic engineering and bioengineering research; and clinical laboratory instruments and reagents. The company continually strives to improve public health by responding to the demand for various infectious disease tests, such as developing testing reagents for COVID-19 genes.
