Social Media Policy

Toyobo Group (hereafter the Group) has established the Social Media Policy (hereafter the Policy) outlined below to ensure the proper use of social media.

1.Basic policy

When using social media, the Group complies with relevant laws as well as various policies and intracompany regulations established by the Group, including the Social Media Guidelines and the Policy.
By understanding the unique nature of social media, we properly share information as conscientious members of society, avoiding comments and actions that deviate from social norms.

2.Definition of social media

The Policy defines social media as platforms such as Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), LINE, Instagram, YouTube, and other social networking services, along with blogs, electronic bulletin boards, and all other media that enable interactive communication among unspecified groups of people using the Internet and web technologies.

3.Purpose of using social media

The Group is committed to establishing wider recognition and understanding about our corporate initiatives, as well as enhancing our brand image by sharing information about our business and services through social media with various stakeholders and society at large and thus establishing favorable relationships with them.

4.The Group’s basic position regarding the use of social media

Compliance with laws, regulations and rules
When using social media, we comply with relevant laws, the Toyobo Group Employee Conduct Standards, and regulations set by each Toyobo Group company, in addition to the terms of service set by each platform, engaging in responsible communication as conscientious members of society.

Handling of privacy, confidential information and copyrights.
We do not post personal information that infringes or may infringe on the privacy of individuals, nor do we post any personal information without the consent of those involved.
The Group does not disclose confidential information intended for internal use only, nor does it share information about business partners and clients in ways that violate information management rules and confidentiality agreements.
We take the utmost care to avoid infringing on the copyrights, portrait rights, the right to honor and similar rights of third parties. When citing third parties’ copyrighted materials or posted content, or using their photos, we clearly indicate the cited sections, provide their sources, and obtain consent for posting their photos.

Regarding information sharing
While fully aware that it is difficult to retract information once shared on social media, we make every effort to ensure that the information we share is always accurate. When our opinions might conflict with those of others, we avoid provocation, and carefully choose expressions that reflect diverse perspectives. We candidly admit and promptly correct our mistakes whenever they occur.
Furthermore, we do not share content that defames individuals, corporations, other organizations, groups, specific races, or any other entities.
We respect our audience (readers) and information disseminators, paying special attention to topics related to politics, religion, and other sensitive matters.
