EcoVadis Silver Medal for sustainability performance

EcoVadis has assessed more than 150,000 companies in 185 countries for their sustainability initiatives across four themes: Environment, Labor and Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. At a time when companies are expected to manage sustainability responsibly not only within their own operations but throughout their supply chains, EcoVadis ratings are increasingly used by global companies as a reference for assessing suppliers’ sustainability management practices when selecting suppliers and evaluating business partners.

Toyobo Group, as stated in its long-term policy Sustainable Vision 2030*1, aims to contribute to a sustainable society while pursuing sustainable growth. In addition to reducing environmental impact, respecting human rights, and ensuring strict compliance, the Group is promoting initiatives to enhance sustainability across the entire supply chain, including formulating a procurement policy and strengthening engagement with business partners. Toyobo has earned an EcoVadis medal for eight consecutive years since 2019. Through continuous efforts that have improved its performance in all four categories, the company has achieved its highest score to date and received a Silver Medal*2.

Under its corporate philosophy “Jun-Ri-Soku-Yu (Adhering to reason leads to prosperity),” Toyobo aims to become a Group that continually creates solutions needed by people and the earth, which it regards as its ideal state. Going forward, the company is committed to enhancing its corporate value by helping solve social issues through its business activities, while further strengthening relationships of trust with customers, suppliers and other stakeholders.
